Year of the Priest

Pope Benedict XVI has declared a “Year for Priests” beginning with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 19, 2009. The year will conclude in Rome with an international gathering of priests with the Holy Father on June 19, 2010. With the announcement, the Pope has declared St. John Vianney the Universal Patron of Priests on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of the CurĂ© d’Ars.

Adopt “St. John Vianney” for a week
A pilgrim statue of St. John Vianney is available for “adoption” for one week increments. Included with the statue will be the DVD “Fishers of Men” as well as a biographical sketch of St. John Vianney and suggested prayers for priests, vocations and families. The statue will be available for adoption in one-week increments beginning on Sunday June 28 for the entire Year of the Priest. Adopting this statue is a great way for the entire family to gather together in prayer for our church! Miraculous Medal Novena
